Citizenship Bill

Controversial Citizenship(Amendment) Bill passes Lok Sabha:

                                      

                                                               The bill amends the 64-years-old citizenship law,Which prohibits illegal migrants from becoming Indian Citizens.It praposes to give citizenship to non-muslim refugees-Hindus,sikhs,Buddhists,Jains,Parsis and Christians-If they entered india from pakistan,Bangladesh or Afghanistan on or before December 31,2014.

PM Modi:Delighted that Lok Sabha has passed Citizenship Bill,2019After a rich &extensive debate.I thank various MPs and parties that supported the Bill.This Bill is in line with India's centuries old ethos of Assimilation and belief in humanitarian values.

                           I would like to specially applaud Home Minister Amit Shah ji for lucidly explaining all aspects of the citizenship Bill,2019.He also gave elaborate answers to the various points raised by resoective MPs during the discussion in the Lok Sabha.

        Amit Shah said's:-I extend my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the historic Citizendship Amendent Bill in a reality,that will allow India to open its doors to minorities from pakistan,Bangladesh & Afghanistan who are facing religious persecution.
